Questlove spilled the beans on the follow-up to Justin Timberlake's third studio LP The 20/20 Experience, which hasn't even dropped yet. The Roots drummer says that a sequel with another 10 songs will drop in November. He revealed the news on the OkayPlayer forum, while responding to a review of the album from the New York Times.

The post was titled "this is hardly Ether." Read it below:

i will say the album is OVERLY ambitious. like a LOT of ideas crammed into one.

spoiler alert. 20/20 Vol 2 comes out in nov. (10 songs now…..10 songs later= 20 vision)

i admire the balls it took to make this record. cause he coulda easily urshurd his work in and made diplo his teddy riley to 20/20′s dangerous instead of sticking with timb’s Quincy.

feel me?

i like throwback Timb. (he played me songs out of order and off both records so i don’t know what made the final cut) so i was shocked he wasn’t 4 on the flooring it like the timb of 2005 was doing. like these joints were straight up missy/magoo timb and justin said he wanted timb to “get back in his real zone” even if it meant alienating the tweens born after 86 who never ever heard of the sly slick and wicked

i mean suit and tie is the MOST UNLIKELY james brown production reference

Timberlake will hit the stage tonight at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas with Questlove and RJD2. The 20/20 Experience drops on March 19.

As if Volume 1 wasn't long enough in the first place.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have two albums with 20 songs each (20/20)?

Speaking of sense...it was hard to make out any in that article, the way it was written. No, sir, I really have no idea what you're saying.

I guess that explains the title :creep: Anyways, some fans were mad cause there were only 10 new songs, so I'm happy for them.

I expect the second album to be more Pop tbh...

There is nothing wrong with having Diplo as a producer :nails3:

I wonder if this will actually happen, I would like it too though. Looking at the material on the album released now, there isn't much material left that can keep up a good album campaign for over an year. I hope he will release Don't Hold The Wall before the summer and then release a new single from Vol. 2 in September, followed by the Vol. 2 album in November. The fact that he also has a deluxe edition out with another cover and two extra makes me doubtful he will release a Vol. 2 or his label is just majorly cashing in.

lol @ y'all still complaining about the songs being "too long" - the whole album is a throwback to old-school R&B/funk; most songs of that era were 5+ minutes long so it makes perfect sense. and the album itself is actually a really solid effort. it would have been boring as shit for him to do EDM like everybody else at the moment.  :xtina:

I'm excited to see what else he and Timbaland are going to come up with. the part about it being similar to his work with Missy is music to my ears
